Services / Basements
Turn the unused half of your house into the favorite half.
Family rooms, in-law suites, home gyms, basement baths, designed for how Massachusetts homes actually live.
What's actually included
Finishing a basement well isn't just framing and drywall. It's understanding moisture, planning egress, sizing HVAC, and choosing materials that don't fail when your sump kicks on. We build basements that pass inspection, feel like part of the house, and survive a New England winter.

Frequently asked
Basements: common questions.
Will my basement stay dry after we finish it?+
We address moisture before framing: sump pump check, vapor barriers, dimple mat where needed, and proper insulation against rim joists. We won't finish a basement that's actively wet without solving the source first.
How tall do my ceilings need to be?+
Massachusetts code wants 7 feet finished in living spaces (6'8" in bathrooms). We work with you on suspended-vs-flush soffit details to keep as much height as possible.
Can you add a bathroom?+
Yes. If you have an existing rough-in, it's straightforward. Without one, we can saw-cut concrete and install an up-flush system or new sanitary line.
Are egress windows required?+
Yes. Any basement bedroom needs a code-compliant egress window with proper well and ladder. We handle the cut, the install, and the inspection.
What insulation works best for Massachusetts winters?+
Closed-cell spray foam on rim joists, then either fiberglass batt or rigid foam on framed walls. We choose based on your moisture conditions and budget.
How long does a basement finish take?+
Four to eight weeks for a typical 800–1,200 sq ft finish with one bathroom. Custom builds with bars or large kitchens stretch to 10–12 weeks.
